Chris Boden CIC, CLCS, TRIP is a Senior Broker in the company’s Property and Casulty division. He is an 18-year insurance veteran who owned & managed his own retail agency for 12+ years and specializes in all aspects of cannabis insurance & risk management in the field. In 2016, he sold his respected agency to a large national brokerage and made the move from retail to wholesale insurance to build a Cannabis Practice Group for a large, national wholesaler. Chris retains a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and Transportation Risk & Insurance Professional (TRIP) insurance & risk management designations, and a Masters of Cannabis Certification from Cannabis Training University.

In 2010, he wrote one of the first insurance policies for a medicinal cannabis dispensary in the country. He has been an advocate for the legalization of cannabis for 25+ years, promoting the medicinal & industrial benefits of the plant. He has also owned & operated a medicinal indoor cannabis cultivation operation which gives him firsthand experience of the issues and risks facing cannabis businesses, having personally experienced the blood, sweat, and tears that go into every operation.

Chris has built a reputation in the cannabis industry as a leading expert on available insurance coverages, partnering with carriers to develop programs and the continuously evolving cannabis market. He has the passion and commitment to help his agents & clients in this newly legal & thriving industry.

He lives in Northern California with his wife and two kids. He is an avid history buff & enjoys spending his free time with his family, fishing and golfing.
